A patient being treated in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Fethiye was declared brain dead despite all interventions. The family decided to donate organs despite their great grief.
After rapid coordination with the Ministry of Health, the patient's two kidneys and liver were successfully harvested. Following the operation at the hospital, the vital organs were transported to İzmir by equipped teams.

Dr. Rasım Farajov, who received the donated organs, emphasized the sensitivity of the organ donation process, saying, "Dr. Osman Bey and his team at the hospital contacted us very carefully after the brain death was confirmed and explained the organ donation process. We accepted this honorable request. Although we lost one life, knowing that with two kidneys and one liver we will give hope and life to 3 patients eases our pain. We are now going to İzmir for the transplant. We are grateful to the hospital team who supported us at every moment and managed this process flawlessly."

Anesthesia specialist Dr. Osman Yapakçı from the private hospital highlighted the importance of the family's sacrifice. Offering condolences to the deceased and patience to the family, Yapakçı said, "Throughout my 30-year career, I have repeatedly witnessed the desperation of patients waiting for organ transplants and their awakening with new hope every morning. On the other hand, I deeply understand the indescribable pain experienced by families of brain-dead patients. Since 3 PM yesterday, we managed a very intense and meticulous process. Under the supervision of our Ministry, with our extensive medical staff, we completed all assessments flawlessly. The noble decision made by our family is among the highest levels reached in the medical world and humanity. We express our gratitude to them. We hope that our patients waiting for operations will be healed with these organs and hold on to life again."
