CHP Muğla Deputy Cumhur Uzun reacted to the urgent expropriation decision published in the Official Gazette by the President concerning some immovables in the Yatağan and Menteşe districts by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs.
"TO OPEN OLIVE GROVES FOR THE USE OF COMPANIES..."
Uzun made the following statements on the issue:
"Once again at midnight. Another decision of plunder and destruction. An urgent expropriation decision was made for 43 parcels in 3 neighborhoods in our Yatağan and Menteşe districts in the name of 'coal'. Moreover, a large part of the expropriated parcels are olive groves. The government is using the authority of urgent expropriation, which should be applied in cases of war and states of emergency, to open the land, habitats, and olive groves, which are the livelihood of Muğla residents, for the use of companies."
Uzun continued as follows:
"We will not bow down to this injustice that ignores land, olives, and life; hostile to nature, hostile to people, and pro-capital. We will continue to defend Muğla's land, its olives, and its future."
