CHP Organized a Member Meeting in Fethiye on the Agenda of 'Absolute Nullity'
As part of the member meetings held simultaneously in 13 districts by the Republican People's Party (CHP) Muğla Provincial Presidency, party members and citizens gathered in Fethiye. At the meeting where the 'absolute nullity' process, which came up on the agenda within the party, was evaluated, the opinions of members and voters were recorded to be conveyed to the general center.
In the meeting held at CHP Fethiye District Presidency, non-member citizens as well as party members participated. Before the meeting, participants were asked to fill out forms containing their thoughts about the process. It was stated that the obtained opinions would be compiled into a report and presented to the Chairman Özgür Özel.
CHP Fethiye District Chairman Mustafa Koyuncu, speaking at the meeting, said that as the Muğla organization, they expressed that they stand with the elected Chairman Özgür Özel.
Koyuncu said, “Together with our district chairmen and administrations in Muğla, we expressed that we stand behind our elected Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel. While doing this, we took into account the pulse of the public and the sense of justice. We have always said that the will of the ballot box must be upheld. We advocated that those who come through the ballot must leave through the ballot. We believe this is a fundamental requirement of democracy.”
Emphasizing the democratic traditions of the party, Koyuncu stated that the ongoing process should be evaluated independently from individuals and said, “If the situation that happened to Mr. Özgür Özel had happened to any other person, we would have shown the same attitude. Because the Republican People's Party is a party that pursues the truth.”
“The Republican People's Party Is Not Just a Building”
Drawing attention to the organizational structure in his speech, Koyuncu said the party will continue its struggle under any conditions. Koyuncu said, “As we stated in recent days, the Republican People's Party is not just a building. Whether it's a tent or a street, we will keep saying that. If necessary, we can work without a building. We know organizing well. We will not give up this struggle.”
It was observed that the member meeting held in Fethiye was attended by many, and it was stated that similar meetings were held in other districts of Muğla as well.
