4,625 Tourists Arrived in Bodrum on Two Cruise Ships
Bodrum cruise tourism gained momentum during the summer season. With two ships docking at the port on the same day, 4,625 passengers reached the district, increasing activity.
The Bodrum district of Muğla witnessed one of the busiest days of the cruise season. A total of 4,625 tourists entered the district with two large passenger ships docking at the port on the same day. The ships arriving from different routes in the early hours increased activity both at the port and in the city center. With cruises mainly carrying American and Russian tourists, crowding is expected in the market, marina, and tourist areas. Similar visits continuing in the coming days of the season are being closely monitored in terms of regional tourism.
Bodrum Cruise Tourism Strengthened by Two Giant Ships
Bodrum cruise tourism experienced one of the busiest days of the summer season. With the docking of the Bahamas-flagged Scarlet Lady and Malta-flagged Aroya at the port on the same day, a significant increase in the number of tourists in the district was observed. Bodrum, which has become an important stop on international cruise routes, stands out with increasing ship traffic in recent years.
A large part of the passengers who disembarked from ships arriving at the port in the morning are expected to visit the district center, historical sites, and coastal areas. Cruise passengers generally create economic activity through day spending rather than short-term accommodation. Therefore, ship visits contribute to a wide segment ranging from restaurants to souvenir businesses.
Scarlet Lady Arrived in Bodrum from Mykonos Route
The Bahamas-flagged Scarlet Lady arrived at Bodrum Port in the morning from the Mykonos Port route. It was reported that the 277-meter-long giant cruise ship carried 2,585 passengers and 1,144 crew members. It was learned that mainly American tourists were on board.
It was stated that after the visit to Bodrum, Scarlet Lady will depart towards Santorini Port in the evening. The ship, which is part of popular cruise routes in the Aegean Sea, once again demonstrated the importance of the region in the international tourism network. Especially the preference of cruise ships with high passenger capacity for Bodrum increases the regional attraction power of the port.
Russian Tourist Density Experienced with Aroya Ship
The second major cruise of the day, Aroya, reached Bodrum within the scope of the trip starting from Marmaris Port. It was noted that the Malta-flagged ship, 335 meters long, carried 2,040 passengers and 1,051 crew members. It was stated that the majority of the passengers on the ship were Russian tourists.
It was learned that Aroya will continue its route to Kaş Port at 20:30 in the evening. Passengers coming from different countries are expected to shop and visit historical and cultural sites during their few hours stay in Bodrum.
