2,583 Tourists Arrived at Bodrum Port on Two Cruise Ships

The Bodrum district of Muğla had another busy day in cruise tourism. On the same day, a total of 2,583 tourists arrived in the district with two different cruise ships docking at Bodrum Port. The ships, which departed from the Greek islands in the early morning hours, entered the port along with hundreds of crew members. Passengers are expected to visit Bodrum's markets, coastal areas, and historical sites throughout the day. The increased number of cruise voyages during the season continues to contribute to the tourism economy of the district while the crowd at the port draws attention.

Bodrum Port experienced one of its busiest days in cruise traffic

Bodrum Port continues to be one of the stopover points for cruise ships, especially influenced by the summer season. In the early hours of the day, the Malta-flagged Mein Schiff 5 docked at the port, and shortly thereafter the France-flagged Le Bougainville also arrived in Bodrum. Thus, the number of cruise passengers arriving in the district in a single day rose to 2,583.

Cruise ships navigating the Aegean route include Bodrum in their itinerary due to its historical heritage and touristic opportunities. A significant portion of the passengers who arrive at the port undertake day trips. This situation particularly creates activity for restaurants, cafes, souvenir businesses, and tour organizations. Thanks to cruise tourism, the visitor profile coming to the district diversifies, and the interest of tourists from different countries in Bodrum increases.

Mein Schiff 5 arrived in Bodrum with thousands of passengers

The largest ship of the day, Mein Schiff 5, departed from Mykonos Port in the early morning and arrived in Bodrum. The Malta-flagged cruiser, with a length of 295 meters, was among the most striking ships at the port. It was reported that the ship mostly carried German tourists.

The ship carries a total of 2,450 passengers and also has 906 crew members on board. The ship, planned to leave Bodrum in the evening, will next visit Heraklion Port on the island of Crete. The regular calling of large-capacity cruise ships at Bodrum strengthens the district’s position on international cruise routes. Especially the spending of tourists coming from the European market directly contributes to the seasonal performance of the local tourism sector.

The French-flagged Le Bougainville carrying American tourists also docked at the port

The second cruise ship arriving in Bodrum was the France-flagged Le Bougainville. Departing from Patmos Port, the ship anchored at Bodrum Port in the morning hours. Evaluated in the small-scale and boutique cruise category, it was announced that the ship mostly carried American tourists. Le Bougainville, carrying a total of 133 passengers and 119 crew members, is planned to head toward Kos Port in the evening.
