Candidate Taşdemir: “I know the problems, I also know the solutions”

In Fethiye, Tourism Housing Operators Association President Vahap Taşdemir announced his candidacy for the mayor of Fethiye after some time for the solution.

Members of the Association, who have been experiencing various problems in construction and licensing processes due to zoning plans that have not been completed for years and face economic difficulties because they cannot utilize the houses and villas they have built for tourism purposes, are constantly striving for both local administrations and relevant ministries to accelerate the process to remedy their grievances.

I KNOW THE PROBLEMS AND THE SOLUTIONS

President Vahap Taşdemir stated in a written statement, “

As someone who knows the long-standing problems of Fethiye and their solutions, serves as the head of the tourism housing operators association and a civil society representative, I believe that through mutual dialogue with the authorized units, away from political conflicts, we can find solutions to Fethiye's problems. Therefore, I publicly announce that I am an independent candidate for mayor of Fethiye. I know Fethiye's long-accumulated problems and clearly see the solutions. If I come to office, I have prioritized targets which will be our priorities; of course, we have many more problems that the time will not suffice to explain.

1. Zoning Problem

We will work to resolve the zoning problem, which has been a bleeding wound of Fethiye for years, in cooperation with the relevant institutions.

2. Extending Tourism to 12 Months

We aim to extend the tourism season, which is compressed into three months, first to eight months and then to twelve months. Especially with state-supported heated pool and four-season tourism projects, we will make Fethiye a tourism center preferred throughout the year.

3. Solving Infrastructure Problems

We will address deficiencies in sewage, rainwater, roads, and other infrastructure with permanent solutions.

4. Large Industrial Site Project

We will establish a modern industrial site that will bring together all industrial tradespeople. We will also provide public transport access to this area planned outside the city.

5. Full Support to Farmers

We will establish a large production and marketing facility that will ensure the purchase of olives, vegetables, and other agricultural products produced by our farmers at their value and open to domestic and foreign markets.

6. Fight Against Excessive Prices

We will initiate efforts to increase price inspections in coordination with relevant institutions so that our citizens and tourists are not victimized.

7. Solving the Parking Problem

We will implement multi-story and modern parking projects in needed areas, especially in the city center.

8. Production Support for Needy Families

We will establish facilities where needy families can produce and sell. This project was prepared years ago and submitted to relevant institutions.

9. Cleaning the Bay

We will clean Fethiye Bay and restore it to a bright blue and healthy appearance.

10. Safe Coast Project

We will create safer living spaces by building protective barriers in risk areas in the promenade and coastal regions.

11. Viewing Terraces and Tourism Points

We will establish viewing terraces in Butterfly Valley, Katrancı, Günlüklü Bay, Yeşil Valley, and other tourist areas to allow visitors to safely watch and immortalize their memories of these unique beauties.

12. Public Solution Center

We will establish a Public Solution Center where our citizens can directly submit their problems. Every opened registration will be tracked and concluded.

13. Merit-Based Management

We will assign duties in the municipality based on merit. Every employee will work in their area of expertise, serving with competent staff.

14. Field-Based Municipalism

We will adopt a management approach present not at desks but among the public. All team members, including myself, will be on the field, see the problems directly, and produce solutions.

15. Planned and Solution-Oriented Zoning Policy

We will not tolerate the conditions that direct any citizen towards illegal construction. We will oppose the attitude that leaves problems unresolved for years, blocking citizens' way, and later victimizing people with heavy fines.

Our goal is not to confront our citizens with fines but to solve problems and open their way. By making the necessary planning, we will enable our citizens to invest legally and orderly. We will create a Fethiye where our people are not afraid to produce, invest, and look confidently to the future.

We will manage Fethiye with a municipal understanding that governs together with the citizens, not against them. We will make this city livable, orderly, and beautiful together, hand in hand.

Fethiye is a district deserving much better management with its sea, nature, tourism, agriculture, and hardworking people.

If God wills and we come to office with the support of our people; we will implement a municipal approach that produces solutions, not words. We will follow up on the promises made and work tirelessly until Fethiye's problems are solved.
