Aroya cruise ship brought 2,540 tourists to Marmaris
The Malta-flagged AROYA Manara cruise ship, which is 335 meters long, docked at Marmaris Port this morning. The 2,540 passengers on board disembarked after customs procedures to visit the district's historical and touristic spots.
Marmaris, one of the important centers of cruise tourism, is hosting a large passenger ship on the first day of the week. The Malta-flagged AROYA Manara, which started its 7-day tour from Istanbul Galataport on July 25, arrived in Marmaris at 08:00 in the morning.
The 335-meter-long cruise ship was moored at the large pier of Marmaris Port, with 2,540 passengers and 1,119 crew members on board.
After the completion of customs procedures, the tourists disembarked from the ship and dispersed to different points of Marmaris. While some of the passengers visited the Marmaris Bazaar, Old Town and Marina to explore the district's historical and touristic spots, some tourists participated in jeep safaris and Dalyan tours.
ARОYA Manara, which is planned to stay in Marmaris for about 12 hours, will depart at 20:00 and head to Bodrum, the next stop on the tour program.
On the 7-day round trip tour, the ship departing from Istanbul has stops in Marmaris, Bodrum, Kaş, and also the Egyptian city of Alexandria. ARОYA Manara is planned to complete its tour program and return to Istanbul Galataport on August 1.
The visit of the cruise ship to Marmaris created activity mainly among the bazaar tradesmen as well as restaurants, cafes, tourism enterprises, and day tour organizations in the district.
