Paragliding and acrobatic athlete Aslı Seher Topçu stated that the season started actively in Ölüdeniz with the Eid al-Adha holiday, saying that the region is a favorite among international athletes with its unique scenery, safe flight opportunities, and world-class tracks.
Fethiye Ölüdeniz attracted intense attention from domestic and foreign visitors with the start of the summer season and the Eid al-Adha holiday. Babadağ and Ölüdeniz skies, recognized as some of the world's most important paragliding centers, once again became the meeting point for adrenaline enthusiasts and professional athletes this year.
Paragliding athlete Aslı Seher Topçu, who performs flights in the acrobatic branch, stated that there was great activity in the region during the holiday period and that the season started faster than expected.
Topçu noted that a large crowd gathered in the region in the days before the holiday and that the activity decreased somewhat after the holiday ended but overall the season remained lively.
Emphasizing that Ölüdeniz is an important center preferred not only by tourists but also by professional paragliding athletes from different countries of the world, Topçu said that especially in these months when temperatures begin to rise, foreign athletes come to the region for training.
Topçu stated that acrobatic pilots work intensively here throughout the season and that the preparation process for the national and international competitions to be held at the end of the year is also continued in Ölüdeniz. She added that athletes who fly in many parts of the world unanimously consider Ölüdeniz an exceptional center, highlighting the region's natural beauties and flight safety.
Topçu pointed out that the different track options offered by Babadağ, favorable weather conditions, and the unique Ölüdeniz view provide great advantages for athletes, saying, "Many athletes from abroad frequently come to Fethiye just to fly here. This scenery, this flight quality, and safety standards are found in only a few centers worldwide."
