Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Prepares Schools for the New Term

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Support Services Department has turned the summer holiday into an opportunity and started maintenance and repair works in school buildings in line with requests from educational institutions. Within the scope of the works carried out in coordination with the Provincial Directorates of National Education, 14 schools located in the districts of Menteşe, Yatağan, Marmaris, Seydikemer, Fethiye, and Ortaca are undergoing a comprehensive renovation process before the new academic year.

14 Schools Are Preparing for the New Academic Year

As part of the efforts, maintenance and repairs are carried out in the necessary parts of the school buildings, while deficiencies are being addressed to ensure that students can study in safer and more comfortable environments. The teams continue their work from the roofs of the schools to the garden walls, from painting the classrooms to improving the floors.

Atatürk Busts and Atatürk Corners Are Being Renewed

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts not only to meet the physical needs of educational institutions but also to keep the values of the Republic alive. As part of the ongoing work, new Atatürk busts are being made in schools where needed, while maintenance and repairs of existing busts are being carried out. Additionally, Atatürk corners are being given a modern and aesthetic appearance.

Support Provided to 41 Schools in the First 6 Months

In the first six months of 2026, 3 schools were provided with new Atatürk busts, while maintenance and repairs were carried out on existing busts in 22 schools. Additionally, Atatürk corners were created in 4 schools, and comprehensive maintenance and repair work was completed in 12 schools.

A Total of 206 Atatürk Busts Have Been Donated So Far

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's support for educational institutions continues uninterrupted. So far, 206 Atatürk busts have been donated to schools across the province, and 90 Atatürk corners have been established. The Metropolitan Municipality will continue maintenance, repair, and renewal works according to requests from school administrations to ensure students have a higher quality learning environment until the new academic year begins.

Chairman of the Coastal Municipalities Union and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Ahmet Aras, stated that investment in education is the most important investment in the future, saying, "It is our common responsibility that our children study in safe, healthy, and modern educational environments. As Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, we carefully evaluate the requests from our schools in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of National Education, and we continue our maintenance and repair works by making the most efficient use of the summer holiday. We aim for our students to start the new academic year in safer and more comfortable schools."
