Support from Turkish Red Crescent Fethiye Branch to teams fighting the fire
The Turkish Red Crescent Fethiye Branch supported the teams participating in the extinguishing efforts of the forest fire, which started in Gökçeovacık Neighborhood of Fethiye and spread to İnlice Neighborhood, lasting about 20 hours. The Red Crescent teams did not leave the personnel working in the fire zone alone in the tough battle by offering rations, ayran, and cold water.
While the extinguishing efforts for the forest fire that started in Gökçeovacık Neighborhood of Fethiye and reached İnlice Neighborhood, lasting about 20 hours, continued uninterruptedly, the Turkish Red Crescent Fethiye Branch Presidency was also there to support the teams in the field.
The Red Crescent teams conducted hospitality and support activities for forest, fire brigade, gendarmerie, and other public institution personnel involved in the firefighting. They delivered rations, ayran, and cold water to personnel working under difficult terrain and weather conditions. The Turkish Red Crescent Fethiye Branch management and volunteers continued their efforts by contributing to meeting the basic needs of the teams selflessly working in the fire zone.
In a statement made by the Turkish Red Crescent Fethiye Branch Presidency, ease was wished for all teams fighting the fire, including the following words: “We wish ease to all our teams working in the field due to the fires in İnlice. To be with our teams who work with great dedication and sacrifice in firefighting and to support their needs, we offered rations, ayran, and cold water in the field. As the Turkish Red Crescent, as in disasters and emergencies, we will continue to stand by our citizens and teams working whenever needed.”
At the end of the statement, thanks were extended to all public institutions, organizations, extinguishing teams, and volunteers who worked day and night to control the fire, and ease was wished for their efforts.
