New Statement from Muğla Governorship on Seydikemer Fire: 121 Households Evacuated

Muğla Governorship made a new statement regarding the forest fire that broke out in Bayır Neighborhood of Seydikemer district.

According to the statement from the governorship, the fire, which started in an agricultural area around 07:45 on July 29, 2026, with an undetermined cause, spread to the forested area in a short time due to strong winds.

The statement expressed that coordination regarding the forest fire is maintained at the highest level, intervention efforts are being carried out effectively on the field, and the measures to be taken are being evaluated in real-time.

23 air vehicles, 137 ground units, and 835 personnel are on duty

According to the information provided by the governorship, the fire is being fought with;

5 planes
18 helicopters
93 fire trucks
3 first intervention vehicles
24 water tankers
23 construction machines
73 support vehicles
6 TOMA (riot control vehicles)
8 ambulances

in total, 23 air vehicles, 137 ground units, and 835 personnel.

It was reported that the teams continue their work uninterrupted to control the fire and protect residential areas.

121 households evacuated

Due to the fire threatening residential areas, 202 citizens living in a total of 121 households in Sarıyer Neighborhood, and the Bayır, Orta Bayır, and Kırsecik locations were evacuated to safe areas as a precaution.

Additionally, it was reported that a total of 50 animals, including 20 cattle and 30 small livestock, were also transported to safe areas.

4 houses damaged

Muğla Governorship announced that a total of 4 houses were damaged in the fire, 3 of which are unusable and in ruins.

Damage assessment studies will continue by the relevant teams after the fire is brought under control.

45 patients transferred to Fethiye State Hospital

The governorship statement noted that 45 patients receiving treatment at Seydikemer State Hospital were transferred to Fethiye State Hospital with all necessary medical precautions taken as a precaution.

Authorities stated that necessary plans have been made to ensure that health services continue uninterrupted.
Muğla Governorship stated that all institutions continue their work in coordination to bring the fire under control as soon as possible and urged citizens to heed the warnings of official institutions.
