Muğla Technopark Became the Attraction Center of the Region in R&D and Innovation

Within this scope, the Technopark Board of Directors convened under the chairmanship of MSKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar to make comprehensive evaluations about existing initiatives and projects; planned activities and new investment opportunities aimed at the development of the Technopark were discussed.

Started its activities in 2020, Muğla Technopark, the R&D and innovation hub of Muğla, has become the attraction center of the region among entrepreneurs thanks to legal advantages such as corporate tax exemption, personnel income tax withholding exemption, SGK premium support, and VAT exemption.

100% Occupancy Rate

As of 2025, the company reaching 45 firms benefited from a total exemption of 101 million TRY and achieved a 100% occupancy rate; only in 2025, 46 new candidate firms applied to operate in the region.
R&D, software, and design project applications made to our region are meticulously examined by the Project Evaluation Commission established according to the relevant legislation.

Qualified Entrepreneurs Who Will Provide Employment Opportunities for Students Are Preferred

In line with the board's commercialization-focused vision, projects without economic value-adding potential are not approved; qualified entrepreneurs with direct export and sales capacity, who will concretize university-industry cooperation and provide internship and employment opportunities for students, are preferred.

As a result of this merit-based and selective admission policy applied, the total export volume increased sixfold from the end of 2023 to the end of 2025, and a new fourfold leap was achieved in the first half of 2026.

16 Projects Directly in Cooperation with the University

Another critical indicator, the total sales amount, increased fivefold from the end of 2023 to the end of 2025, reaching 288 million TRY.

Today in our region, high-tech research and production activities are carried out in 17 different sectors including software, defense industry, aviation, electronics, energy, chemistry, agriculture, and health. As of the end of 2025, 16 out of 76 ongoing projects in our region are directly in cooperation with the university, and 9 are jointly implemented with foreign-origin companies.

The entrepreneurs' access capacity to national and international funds has also steadily increased; in 2025, 10 TÜBİTAK and 3 European Union supported projects were successfully carried out in our region.

Employment for 239 People

Muğla Technopark, in line with its mission to create qualified employment, provided employment for a total of 239 people by the end of 2025, most of whom are computer, IT, software, and electrical-electronics expert R&D personnel.

In addition, to enable R&D and design personnel to work with high motivation, improvements were made in social facilities; new meeting rooms, social areas, and modern shared working spaces were put into operation in 2025.

Technopreneurship Training Programs for Candidate Entrepreneurs

Comprehensive and free technopreneurship training programs are organized within the incubation center for candidate entrepreneurs willing to operate in our region.

Moreover, with a strategic decision taken by the Board of Directors in 2026, a special budget was allocated to provide material support for projects of teams that will participate in TEKNOFEST competitions, which encourage youth in R&D and innovation and make critical contributions to the domestic and national technology ecosystem.
