Joint Intelligence Meeting for 'Field Fishing' in Milas

In the meeting held with field fishing producers in Milas, chaired by Muğla Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Seyfettin Baydar, the current status of marine fish farming in earthen ponds, canal cleaning problems, and action plan reports were comprehensively evaluated.

Muğla Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Seyfettin Baydar met with field fishing producers operating in the Milas district to assess the current situation of the sector, encountered problems, and solution proposals.

In the meeting held in the region where marine fish are farmed in earthen ponds using unique bitter and salty water sources, recent legislative changes regarding field fishing were discussed. Additionally, short, medium, and long-term action plans proposed within the scope of the “Investigation Report on Field Fishing's Effect on YAS-YÜS and Soil Pollution” were evaluated.

While producers’ demands were heard during the meeting, particular emphasis was placed on the problems experienced in canal cleanings and solution proposals. Consultations with sector representatives involved discussions on the necessary steps to sustainably develop field fishing.

The Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry stated that efforts to develop field fishing will continue in cooperation with producers.
