Extreme heat is on the way, will rise to 39-40 degrees in Muğla

Air temperatures, which have been at seasonal normals across the country, will increase by 3-4 degrees today. Extreme heat is expected to be effective next week. Air temperatures will also rise day by day in the districts of Muğla. The highest temperatures are expected in Ortaca, Köyceğiz, Milas, Seydikemer, and Yatağan.

METEOROLOGICAL OVERVIEW

According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology: It is expected that the northeastern parts of our country and the interior parts of the Mediterranean will be partly cloudy and occasionally very cloudy; the Taurus Mountains area of the Mediterranean, the eastern Black Sea coasts, the surroundings of Ordu, Artvin, Ardahan, and Kars as well as the interior parts of Samsun and Sinop will have showers and thunderstorms; other areas will be mostly clear and sunny. The precipitation is expected to be locally heavy around Ordu and Giresun.

AIR TEMPERATURE: No significant change in air temperatures is expected.

WIND: Generally from the north, and in the Mediterranean from the south, expected to blow lightly and occasionally at moderate strength.

WARNINGS

HEAVY RAIN WARNING: Since locally heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected around Ordu and Giresun, caution and precautions should be taken against adverse effects such as sudden floods, water logging, lightning, landslides, localized hailstorms, and strong winds during precipitation.

METEOROLOGICAL OVERVIEW FOR MUĞLA AND ANTALYA

Clear, slightly cloudy, with partly cloudy conditions in some places in the afternoon; localized showers and thunderstorms expected in the eastern interior parts of Antalya.

AIR TEMPERATURE: Expected to increase by 2 to 4 degrees.

WIND: From the north and west, expected to blow lightly and sometimes moderately from the south around noon.

WARNINGS

Be careful and take precautions against possible adverse conditions caused by high temperatures and low humidity, as well as locally high humidity in coastal areas.

TEMPERATURE WILL RISE IN MUĞLA’S DISTRICTS AS WELL

The air temperature is expected to be 36-38 in Bodrum, 34-37 in Dalaman, 33-35 in Datça, 36-38 in Fethiye, 38-40 in Seydikemer and Köyceğiz, 35-38 in Milas, Yatağan, and Marmaris, and 36-39 degrees in Ortaca.
