The Ashura offering organized by Marmaris Municipality for the month of Muharram brought citizens together at Atatürk Square. Mayor Acar Ünlü also took the lead at the cauldron and distributed Ashura to the citizens.
Marmaris Municipality kept alive the spiritual atmosphere of the month of Muharram with the tradition of sharing and solidarity. During the ashura distribution held at Atatürk Square, ashura was distributed to approximately 2 thousand people, and the event attracted great interest not only from the citizens but also from the guests vacationing in the district.
Ashures carefully prepared by the municipal chefs were served to the citizens at the event. Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü also attended the event, both chatting with the citizens and at one point taking the ladle himself to distribute ashure by hand.
Stating that the event strengthened the feelings of sharing, unity, and togetherness, President Ünlü said, "We are enjoying the happiness of experiencing the spiritual atmosphere of the month of Muharram together with our fellow townspeople. We served ashura, a symbol of solidarity and sharing, along with our love.
I pray that the month of Muharram brings us all unity, peace, and abundance, and that our prayers are accepted. May our unity, solidarity, abundance, and prosperity be everlasting" he said.
