Students from the Art Club of Beijing Foreign Studies University in China visited Fethiye Municipality. The students, hosted by Deputy Mayor Metin Sevinç and Deputy Mayor Oğuz Bolelli, presented a special gift to the municipal officials with 'Hello' written in 101 languages on it.
Students of the Beijing Foreign Studies University Art Group, who came from China to Fethiye, visited the Fethiye Municipality and made a meaningful contribution to the cultural friendship between the two countries.
During the visit held at the Fethiye Municipality Council Meeting Hall, the students were hosted by Deputy Mayor Metin Sevinç and Deputy Mayor Oğuz Bolelli.
In the meeting held in a sincere atmosphere, exchanges of views were held on cultural collaborations, tourism, and the development of mutual relations. At the end of the visit, the students presented a special gift, prepared with their own efforts and featuring the word "Hello" written in 101 languages, to the Deputy Mayor Metin Sevinç.
“We want to strengthen cultural ties between Fethiye and China”
Speaking at the visit, Deputy Mayor Oğuz Bolelli expressed his pleasure in hosting young artists in Fethiye, saying, "We are very happy to host a young and artistic group in our district. What were your thoughts about Turkey and Fethiye before coming here? We are curious whether what you see here meets your expectations."
Bolelli, drawing attention to the fact that Fethiye is both an agricultural and a tourism city, said, "Fethiye is a district with a population of approximately 200 thousand. Although it may seem small by Chinese standards, it is one of the three most important destinations visited by Chinese tourists in Turkey. Therefore, we aim to advance our relations with China both in tourism and cultural fields."
"Cultural interactions will strengthen our friendship"
Bolelli, who believes that the traditional performances by Chinese students in Fethiye will attract great interest, stated, "I think that the traditional culture you will showcase here and the performances you will do will further increase the interest of the people of Fethiye in Chinese culture. I believe that we will take the relations between the two countries to even higher levels. It will be a great pleasure for us to hold events in Fethiye where cultural interaction, not just mutual visits, is prioritized."
Turkish nights organized during the summer season in Fethiye introduce Turkish culture to foreign tourists. Özgür Koyuncu, a member of the performance team, said that folk dances from seven regions and Turkish cuisine have been highly appreciated by tourists.
Paspatur Bazaar, one of the historical and touristic spots of Fethiye district in Muğla, was flooded with domestic and foreign tourists on Sunday. The bazaar witnessed lively scenes throughout the day in the district, which is experiencing one of the busiest periods of the summer season.
The ground, play groups, and sports areas in Üçkuyular Park have been renewed. A safer living space was created for children and citizens.
The 'Barrier-Free Market' project was launched by the Muğla Branch of the Turkish Association of Disabled People to support the economic and social participation of disabled individuals and their families.
With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, significant changes have been made to the norm staff system of municipalities. The regulation covering municipalities across Turkey also closely concerns the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and its affiliated institutions. Director positions exceeding the norm staffing standards will be frozen, and when they become vacant, they will not be refilled and will be canceled by the decision of the municipal council.
