Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık, together with Provincial Directorate of National Education Emre Çay, participated in the opening of Ata Book Cafe, managed by Özge Gürman. The ribbon cutting took place at the ceremony attended by protocol members, children, and families.
"Books are the most valuable treasures that build the future"
Speaking at the opening, Governor Akbıyık stated that Ata Book Cafe will add value to Ula's cultural life and wished success to the manager Özge Gürman.
Highlighting the importance of the habit of reading for societal development, Akbıyık expressed that within the scope of the "One Book One Person" project carried out throughout Muğla, they aim to spread the reading culture among citizens of all ages.
Governor Akbıyık emphasized the importance of children and young people growing up with a love for books, stating that social living spaces intertwined with books make significant contributions to this goal.
Social living space created for children and young people
Business owner Özge Gürman expressed that they designed Ata Book Cafe especially as a living space where children and young people can read books, conduct research, and use technology consciously.
Gürman noted that the café's name and concept were inspired by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's emphasis on education and books, and stated that visuals related to Atatürk are also featured in the venue.
Aimed to contribute to Ula's cultural life
Gürman stated that Ata Book Cafe offers an environment where young people can spend time with books, distancing themselves for a while from social media and phone usage, and expressed their belief that the establishment will make important contributions to Ula's cultural and social life.
