The First Show in Turkey on July 9th at Telmessos

The historic Fethiye visit expected to be held by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Turkey in July is anticipated to mark a new phase in the Fethiye-China friendship, now crowned by the universal language of art.

The Dance Group of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), one of the most respected higher education institutions in the capital Beijing, is preparing to offer viewers an unforgettable summer evening with their free show in Fethiye.

In recent years, the cultural and diplomatic relations between Fethiye and China continue to attract attention. The official visit of China's Ambassador to Turkey, Jiang Xuebin, to Fethiye on July 9-10 is regarded as one of the most important indicators that the friendship between the two countries has entered a new local level, while the cultural and artistic events to be held during this historic visit are also drawing interest.

One of the most striking artistic events will be the special performance of the Beijing Foreign Studies University Dance Group in Fethiye.

First Show in Turkey at Telmessos

Founded in 2001, the BFSU Dance Group is considered one of China's most distinguished university art groups. Since its establishment, the group has successfully represented Chinese culture in many countries around the world, earning great admiration with its performances at international festivals and cultural organizations.

The group, repeatedly invited to special programs by China Central Television (CCTV), has become one of China's artistic ambassadors by performing in many countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, Hungary, Belgium, and Germany within cultural exchange programs. The performance BFSU will present on the evening of July 9th at Fethiye's Telmessos Ancient Theatre will be the group's first performance in Turkey.

The group, which has received various awards especially at University Art Festivals until today, won silver at the 2017 Beijing University Students Dance Festival and bronze in 2025. The team, which ranked first at the CBDF China Cup International Ballroom Dance Championship, one of China's most prestigious ballroom dance competitions, is internationally praised for its artistic discipline and stage quality.

The group’s repertoire includes impressive works such as "Dream Turning into a Painting," "Ghost of the Silk Road," "Five Continents Filled with Joy," "Sky Bath," "Red Room Dream," and "Eternal Green," blending China's millennia-old cultural heritage with modern stage aesthetics.
