TUKFED Officially Established, Muğla Marked the Management
Associations representing housekeeping employees who provide cleaning, maintenance, and hygiene services in the accommodation sector have united their strength under the umbrella of the Turkey Tourism Housekeeping Services Federation (TUKFED). At the founding general assembly held in İzmir, the federation's administrative bodies were determined, and three names from Muğla were also elected to important positions.
The establishment of TUKFED was officially declared at the general assembly held on July 31 in İzmir, with the participation of delegates from various tourism destinations of Turkey. The meeting, hosted by Hotel 86 By Katipoğlu, saw the federation's management, supervisory, and other committees formed unanimously.
Strong Representation from Muğla in Management
At the founding general assembly, Ayla Yarıcı from Marmaris was elected as the federation’s treasurer, while Serpil Erdem from Bodrum took on the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Canan Toker from Fethiye was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board. Thus, Muğla was strongly represented in both management and supervisory levels of the federation.
Hakan Halit Yeni assumed the role of Honorary President and Chief Advisor of the federation, and Musa Yurdakul was elected as president.
"A Roof of Unity and Solidarity"
Speaking after the establishment, Honorary President Hakan Halit Yeni emphasized that the long-standing struggle was crowned by the foundation of the federation and stated that they have created a strong management covering Turkey's important tourism centers. Yeni expressed his belief that the federation will undertake important initiatives to support the rights and professional development of housekeeping employees.
Federation President Musa Yurdakul thanked the delegates who deemed him worthy of the duty and said they will work in unity for the future of the sector and their colleagues. Yurdakul announced that the first official activity of TUKFED will take place at the tourism fair organized in Istanbul in November, followed by a special event celebrating the establishment.
The newly established federation aims to strengthen the professional solidarity of housekeeping employees across Turkey and develop joint projects within the tourism sector.
