Forest fire in Seydikemer partially brought under control

A positive development occurred in the forest fire that started yesterday morning in Muğla's Seydikemer district and spread over a wide area

As a result of the intense intervention by the teams throughout the night by land and by air with the first light of day, the fire was partially brought under control.

The extinguishing efforts carried out under the coordination of the Muğla Governorship were supported by the General Directorate of Forestry, firefighters, AFAD, police, gendarmerie, many institutions, and also volunteer citizens. Teams working tirelessly for days to prevent the fire from spreading to residential areas continue cooling efforts in the region.

Damaged areas due to the fire were observed from the air, and the destruction in forested areas and olive groves drew attention. After the smoke dispersed to a large extent, the teams increased precautions in the region against possible re-ignitions.

Officials stated that efforts to bring the fire fully under control continue without interruption and called on citizens not to approach risky areas and to heed the warnings of official institutions.
