Penalty for driver throwing cigarette butt from vehicle in Seydikemer
Seydikemer District Governorate announced that upon a report of a cigarette butt being thrown from a vehicle near the fire area on Söğüt road at Bayır location, the vehicle was identified and the necessary penalty was applied to the driver. The Governorate called on citizens to be more careful against the risk of forest fires.
The Seydikemer District Governorate announced that punitive action was taken against the driver who threw a cigarette butt from a vehicle near the fire area. According to the statement from the Governorate, following a report that a cigarette butt was thrown from a moving vehicle near the forest fire area on Söğüt road at Bayır location, teams took action. As a result of the efforts, the said vehicle was identified quickly and administrative and penal actions were applied against the driver.
The statement emphasized that especially during these days when hot weather, low humidity, and strong winds are effective, even a single discarded cigarette butt can cause major forest fires. The Governorate's statement included the words, "We all have great responsibility in preventing fires. Let's be more careful and sensitive to protect our green homeland."
Authorities reminded that the risk of forest fire continues at a high level across Muğla and urged citizens to avoid any behavior that could cause fire, to show maximum sensitivity in forested areas, and to report suspicious situations to the 112 Emergency Call Center without delay.
