Aircraft took off at first light in fires in Seydikemer and Fethiye
In the two separate forest fires continuing in the Seydikemer and Fethiye districts of Muğla, firefighting planes and helicopters took off again with the break of dawn. The firefighting efforts conducted from the ground throughout the night received intense aerial support at the first light of morning.
According to the information received, the firefighting teams continue their intensive struggle in the forest fire that started around 07:45 on Wednesday, July 29, in Bayır Neighborhood of Seydikemer district and spread over a wide area due to the wind. Twenty-four hours have passed in the fire, and the teams fighting the flames on the ground throughout the night received support from aerial vehicles again with the dawn.

Meanwhile, firefighting efforts continue uninterrupted in the forest fire that started for an undetermined reason during the night in Yeşilüzümlü Neighborhood, affiliated with Fethiye district. Following the rapidly growing fire due to the wind, water tenders belonging to the Muğla Forest Regional Directorate and teams from Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department were dispatched to the area. Teams are exerting intensive efforts to prevent the fire from reaching residential areas and aerial vehicles joined the ground firefighting efforts in the morning.
With the break of dawn, firefighting planes and helicopters carried out sorties one after another, supporting the ground teams in both fire areas. The fight to bring the flames under control continues non-stop with coordinated efforts from air and ground.
