Urgent call from Seydikemer District Governorship and Municipality: "We invite everyone holding a shovel and hoe to join the all-out struggle"
Due to the forest fire ongoing in Seydikemer district of Muğla, Seydikemer District Governorship and Seydikemer Municipality issued a joint call inviting citizens to support the fight against the fire.
The forest fire that started in Bayır Neighborhood in Seydikemer early in the morning and spread over a wide area due to strong winds is being fought continuously by air and land interventions, while an attention-grabbing solidarity call came from the Governorship and the Municipality.
In the statement, it was requested that construction machinery in Fethiye and Seydikemer and volunteer citizens provide support to prevent the fire from growing further.
The statement included the following expressions:
"To combat the forest fire that started in Bayır Neighborhood of our district and is not yet under control; we invite all construction machinery in the Fethiye and Seydikemer regions and all our citizens holding shovels and hoes to become united as one heart, to fight as one in an all-out struggle, digging with their nails to stop the fire before it grows bigger and causes greater losses. Today is the day of unity and solidarity."
