Şadan Gökovalı Open Air Theater is Being Renovated

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality continues maintenance, repair, and renovation works at Prof. Dr. Şadan Gökovalı Open Air Theater located in Menteşe district. With an investment cost of approximately 23 million TL, the project includes renovation of the stage, technical infrastructure, seating areas, and interior spaces, aiming to transform the theater into a modern event venue with a capacity of 2,750 seats.

Cultural and Art Space is Being Renovated in Menteşe

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality continues renovation works at Prof. Dr. Şadan Gökovalı Open Air Theater, one of the important venues hosting cultural and art events in the city.

The maintenance, repair, and renovation works at the open-air theater located in Menteşe district are being carried out by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Planning and Projects Department.

Modernization with a 23 Million TL Investment

Within the scope of the works sustained with an investment of approximately 23 million TL, many parts of the theater building are being modernized. While the work to cover the roof of the existing stage has been completed, other renovation activities continue according to the planned program.

Upon completion of the works, it is aimed that the open-air theater will gain a more comfortable, functional structure suitable for today's needs.

Technical Infrastructure is Being Updated According to Contemporary Needs

As part of the renovation, the technical infrastructure and equipment located in the stage and backstage areas of the theater are also being renewed.

With the renewal of technical sections that directly affect stage use, it is aimed for cultural, art, and stage events to be held in the theater in a more modern environment. This setup will provide significant convenience both for artists and event organizers.

Seating Areas and Interior Spaces are Being Arranged

Within the project's scope, arrangement works are also being carried out in the spectator seating areas and interior spaces serving the stage.

Considering the building’s purpose and current needs, these works aim to increase spectator comfort at the open-air theater. Artist rooms, administrative offices, foyer area, decor entrance, and protocol rooms will be made more functional.

Accessibility and Environmental Arrangement are Also Being Done

The renovation project includes not only the stage and seating areas but also accessibility arrangements suitable for the use of all citizens. Accessibility platforms are being constructed within the theater area.

Additionally, environmental arrangement works are being carried out simultaneously. Thus, both the ease of use and the physical appearance of the theater will be strengthened.

Modern Event Venue with a 2,750-Person Capacity

Once completed, Prof. Dr. Şadan Gökovalı Open Air Theater will serve as a modern event venue with a seating capacity of approximately 2,750.

The renovated open-air theater is expected to more efficiently host concerts, theater performances, shows, festivals, and cultural art events organized in Muğla.
