Attention Those Going to Ölüdeniz! Hot Weather Intensifies in Fethiye
According to the latest weather forecast report from the General Directorate of Meteorology, hot weather will continue to affect Muğla's Fethiye district on Saturday, July 18, 2026. While the temperature in the district is expected to rise up to 38 degrees, experts warned citizens against heatstroke, high UV rays, and health problems caused by hot weather.
According to meteorological data, hot and sunny weather will prevail throughout the day in Fethiye. The temperature, expected to be measured at 27 degrees in the morning hours, will reach 38 degrees in the afternoon. It is estimated that the perceived temperature will be higher due to the effect of humidity.
Summer Heat Increases Its Effect in Fethiye
In Fethiye, one of Turkey's popular tourism centers, due to the hot weather, especially Ölüdeniz, Çalış Beach, Göcek bays, Butterfly Valley, Kayaköy, and boat tour routes are expected to continue to be crowded.
Experts emphasize that to prevent the hot weather from negatively affecting tourism activities, shaded areas should be preferred especially during midday and plenty of fluids should be consumed.
Sunstroke Warning from Meteorology
Meteorology officials advised citizens not to go outside unnecessarily between 11:00 and 16:00, when the sun rays are most effective.
Particularly the elderly, children, citizens with chronic illnesses, and those working outdoors should be careful against heatstroke. It is recommended to drink plenty of water, prefer thin and light-colored clothes, and use hats and sunscreen products.
Beware of Forest Fire Risk
Authorities drawing attention to increased fire risk in forested areas around Fethiye due to high temperature and low humidity asked citizens to be sensitive about not lighting fires, and not leaving cigarette butts and glass bottles or other debris that may cause fire in nature.
In case of any smoke or fire sighting, a call to the 112 Emergency Call Center without delay was urged.
