High Participation in Nif Cherry Festival
The Nif Cherry Festival organized by Fethiye Municipality and Nif Yörüks Culture Solidarity Association featured colorful scenes.
The Nif Cherry Festival, organized by Fethiye Municipality and Nif Yörüks Culture Solidarity Association in Muğla, provided citizens with an unforgettable weekend.
Ferhat Uysal, the headman of Nif, stated that the festival also contributes economically to the neighborhood and said, “We find such events extremely valuable to keep our cultural heritage alive, to pass our local values on to future generations, and to strengthen our social solidarity. I hope we will continue to share the beauties and abundance of our Nif Neighborhood and meet at many festivals where friendships are reinforced and our unity and solidarity become even stronger.”
Deputy Mayor of Fethiye, Veli Uysal, said, “Welcome to my headmen, NGO leaders, political party leaders, and all participants. I wish this festival to be blessed and auspicious for the valuable citizens of Nif Neighborhood. I hope all our farmers have very fruitful work. I also congratulate our dear fathers on Father’s Day. I convey the greetings of our Mayor Alim Karaca. I wish everyone a good evening and good entertainment.”
WINNERS OF THE COMPETITIONS ANNOUNCED
Later, Ali Tunç and the municipal band performed at the festival. A cherry producer contest was held during the program. In the best producer contest, Fatma Gül Kara came first, Cengiz Gökmen second, and Mustafa Yücel third. In the fastest cherry eating contest, Medet Topçu won first place.
Turkish Folk Music Artist Nurcan Altınok then performed on stage during the program.
