Muğla's Local Flavors Compete on Kanal 7: Filming Started in Menteşe

The filming of the television contest titled "I Cook the Best" that will showcase the local cuisine of Muğla has started at Gastro Muğla in the Menteşe district. In the competition to be broadcast on Kanal 7, housewives over the age of 60 will demonstrate their cooking skills.

The filming of the television contest called "I Cook the Best," aimed at introducing Muğla's gastronomic values to Turkey, has started at Gastro Muğla located in the Menteşe district. The first episode of the competition, which will be broadcast on Kanal 7 every weekday, will be aired on July 27, 2026.

The program, produced and directed by Yasin Esirgenç, will be hosted by Local Cuisine Expert Timur Kocabıçak and Eastern Mediterranean University Cyprus Lecturer Kardelen Üntaç.

In the competition, housewives aged 60 and over will prepare local delicacies to present before the jury. The winner of the week will be awarded a Republic gold coin.

During the filming, which is planned to last about 3 months, guest chefs from both domestic and abroad will also participate to contribute to the promotion of Muğla's cuisine.

Among the contestants selected from hundreds of applications are well-known figures from Muğla. Actress Gülnihal Demir, social media personality Aunt Günay, award-winning chef Pembe Telli known as "Mother of Tarhana," zerde master Rabia Küçük, and Şengül Yavuz Gökcan will showcase their skills in the kitchen.

The organization held at Gastro Muğla aims to contribute to gastronomy tourism by bringing Muğla's rich culinary culture to national screens.
