Thunderstorm Showers in Mid-June in Muğla
In Muğla's Menteşe district, thunderstorm showers and, in some areas, hail were effective. While the Aegean Region struggled with drought in June 2025, when precipitation was 63 percent below normal across Turkey, Muğla was one of the rare provinces in the region to see an increase in rainfall.
For many years, June has been known as a period in Muğla when the summer season begins and the number of rainy days is quite low. During this period, usually only a few days experience light rain, with daytime temperatures ranging between 25-27 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures between 13-17 degrees Celsius.
In Muğla's districts with higher elevation such as Menteşe, Yatağan, and Kavaklıdere, the afternoon thunderstorm showers did not negatively affect daily life, and it was learned that the rainfall especially provided much-needed water to the vegetable seedlings planted in agricultural fields.
