Youth in Muğla Paddled for Nature and Sports

Volunteers from the International Youth Center under the Menteşe District Youth and Sports Directorate experienced canoeing, performed environmental cleanup, and received ecological education in a special program.

The volunteers of the International Youth Center operating within the Menteşe District Youth and Sports Directorate came together in an event combining nature, sports, and environmental awareness as part of the "Paddles to the Water, Youth to Nature" program. The program, held in the unique nature of Muğla, offered young people the opportunity to both engage in sports and contribute to the environment.

The first phase of the program took place at Kayacık Beach in Dalaman district of Muğla. Young volunteers had the chance to try canoeing under the guidance of expert instructors and get acquainted with water sports. The canoe event highlighted teamwork, coordination, and solidarity, allowing the youth to enjoy pleasant moments among the beauties of nature.

Immediately following the canoeing event, the environmentally supportive youth carried out an extensive cleanup along the beach. The volunteers collected litter left in the environment one by one, contributing to the protection of natural areas while aiming to raise awareness about environmental consciousness and sustainable living.

In the second part of the program, the youth turned their route to Ortaca Sarıgerme and participated in an ecological briefing event organized there. In the training carried out by experts, vital information was conveyed to the youth on topics such as Ecosystem protection, Combating climate change, Conscious use of natural resources, Biodiversity, and sustainable living./İHA
