Muğla Governor Akbıyık's message for July 24 Journalists and Press Day
Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık, in his message on the occasion of July 24 Journalists and Press Day, stated that the press is one of the indispensable elements of democracy, and thanked the Muğla press, who selflessly served especially during forest fires and disaster periods.
Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık, in his message on the occasion of July 24 Journalists and Press Day, drew attention to the important role of press members in providing society with accurate and impartial information and congratulated all journalists on their holiday. Emphasizing that the press is one of the cornerstones of democracy, Governor Akbıyık said, "Our press, one of the cornerstones of our democracy, is the strongest guarantee of our people's right to receive accurate news. I sincerely congratulate all our press members who work tirelessly day and night with great dedication and responsibility for the construction of social awareness on July 24 Journalists and Press Day."
Pointing out that journalism is a respectable profession that pursues the truth, Akbıyık said, "Journalism is a respected profession that illuminates public conscience, follows the trace of truth with a sense of social responsibility, and serves to keep our common values alive. Our press members, who fulfill this duty in accordance with professional ethics and public interest principles, contribute to strengthening the climate of trust in society."
Governor Akbıyık noted that the Muğla press undertakes an important role especially during disaster periods and said, "Our local and national press representatives in Muğla, the paradise on earth and cradle of civilizations, serve as an unshakable bridge between our citizens and our state by introducing the cultural, historical, and natural riches of our province to the world. Especially in our struggle to protect our 'Green Homeland,' I extend my gratitude to the Muğla press who selflessly work tirelessly to provide accurate information to our people during forest fires and disaster periods and to prevent provocations."
