Muğla Police Department held a memorial service for Martyred Police Officer Tayfun Baş
In the Menteşe district of Muğla; a memorial service was held and lokma was distributed by the Muğla Police Department for Police Officer Tayfun Baş, who was killed while responding to a violence against women report.
On the night of June 13 at a beauty center in the Menteşe district of Muğla, police teams were dispatched to the scene following a KADES report made by the operator.
The ex-husband of the woman who made the report, Corporal G.Y. from the Muğla Provincial Gendarmerie Command, opened fire with a pistol on Police Officer Tayfun Baş and the woman.
Police Officer Tayfun Baş was injured in the attack and taken to the hospital, but despite all interventions, he lost his life.
Yesterday (June 21), a memorial service and lokma distribution were organized by the Muğla Police Department for Baş.
In a statement by the Police Department, the following was said:
“Our Provincial Police Department organized a memorial and lokma charity program to keep alive the precious memory of our dear Martyr Police Officer Tayfun Baş and to commemorate him with prayers.
The program was attended by our Provincial Police Chief Mr. Süleyman Karadeniz, the precious family of our martyr, relatives, colleagues, and our citizens. Following the recitation of the Quran and prayers, our martyr was remembered with mercy, gratitude, and longing.
May the soul of our dear martyr rest in peace and his place be in heaven.”
