Coarse Feed and Fish Feed Support from Muğla Metropolitan to Producers in Milas

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality provided coarse feed and fish feed support in Ekinanbarı Neighborhood of Milas to support rural development and reduce producers' costs.

In the program held with the participation of the Coastal Municipalities Union and Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras, support was given to both livestock producers and aquaculture producers.

Coarse Feed Support for 1,700 Animals

Coarse feed crops such as oats, barley, and triticale, grown on agricultural lands owned by the Metropolitan Municipality by the Agricultural Services Department of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, were delivered to producers in Ekinanbarı Neighborhood.

Within the scope of the program, coarse feed support was provided for 937 large and 762 small livestock in approximately 60 enterprises. The support aims to reduce feed costs for producers and strengthen the sustainability of livestock farming.

Elif Atabey, a farmer in Ekinanbarı Neighborhood, stated that coarse feed is one of the biggest problems for producers and expressed satisfaction with the support. Atabey emphasized that providing coarse feed for free and distributing it to producers is important for them and thanked Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras.

21 Tons of Feed Distributed to Aquaculture Producers

Aquaculture producers were not forgotten in the program. As part of the work carried out by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, 11 tons of trout feed were distributed to members of the Muğla Trout Producers Association, and 10 tons of feed for sea bream and sea bass were distributed to members of the Milas Inland Water Fisheries Producers Association.

The total 21 tons of fish feed support aims especially to reduce production costs of small-scale enterprises.

Muzaffer Yenisu, who produces field fish farming in Ekinanbarı Neighborhood, stated that feed is one of the biggest expense items in fish farming and said the support provides significant contribution for producers. Yenisu expressed gratitude to Mayor Aras by stating that the feed support relieved producers from a major burden.

Thanks from the Headman to the Metropolitan Municipality

Barış Ülkü, Headman of Ekinanbarı Neighborhood, stated that farming is an important source of livelihood in the neighborhood. Ülkü said the Metropolitan Municipality cultivates in the region, provides fertilizer support, and supports the production process, expressing thanks to Mayor Ahmet Aras and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality for the assistance given to producers at harvest time.

Mayor Aras: "We Always Stand by Our Producing Villagers"

Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras drew attention to Milas's production potential during his visit to Ekinanbarı Neighborhood. Emphasizing the importance of sustainability in agriculture, rural development, and cooperation between local governments, Aras said they will continue to stand by producers.

Mayor Aras stated that they first distributed coarse feed and covered over 50% of the approximately one-year feed needs of producers in Ekinanbarı Neighborhood for free as coarse feed. Aras said this made them happy and showed that they are on the right path.

He mentioned providing support also for small family businesses and fish producers, saying, "We are always with our producing villagers, our farmers. We do not want our villages to be emptied."

Aras expressed that Muğla is a very rich city with its olives, fisheries, agricultural production, and tourism potential, and said there is hardly another province with so many different economic values together.

Mayor Aras stated that they will support producers with more useful and concrete projects in the upcoming period and added, "Whoever says 'I will produce' is welcome to come. Let them ask from us. We are always ready to do the maximum we can within the legal and lawful framework. Hopefully, we will meet more often from now on. Ekinanbarı is very valuable to us."

The coarse feed and fish feed supports provided by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality to producers are aimed to contribute to the continuity of rural production and to reduce the cost burden of small-scale enterprises.
