Summer Sports Courses in 17 Branches for Children from Muğla Metropolitan Municipality

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality ensures that children and young people spend their vacation period productively with summer sports courses organized in 17 different branches.

A total of 1,162 students participate in summer sports courses organized in 17 different branches by the Department of Youth and Sports Services. While these courses contribute to the physical, mental, and social development of children, they aim to make sports a part of life.

Summer Sports Courses Organized in 17 Branches

Within the scope of the Summer Sports Courses, children and young people receive training in 17 different sports branches under the supervision of expert instructors. Practical training is provided in swimming, volleyball, taekwondo, folk dances, athletics, chess, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, children’s zumba, optimist sailing, table tennis, kickboxing, ice skating, cycling, children’s pilates, and football branches. A total of 1,162 students regularly attend the courses.

Department Head Özpoyraz: "We Will Continue Our Efforts for Our Youth to Integrate with Sports"

Mustafa Özpoyraz, Head of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's Youth and Sports Services Department, stated that they have significantly expanded the scope of summer sports courses since the establishment of the department, saying, "We increased our previously 6-branch summer sports courses to 17 different branches this year and started trainings in 6 districts."

Emphasizing that the courses aim to contribute to children’s and young people’s physical, mental, and social development, Özpoyraz said, "Our goal is to bring children and young people together with sports, contributing to their growth as healthy individuals. Following the instructions of our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Ahmet Aras, we will continue our work with the same determination to ensure our youth integrate more with sports and healthy generations are raised."

Mayor Aras: "Children Who Play Sports Are the Guarantee of a Healthy Future"

Ahmet Aras, President of the Coastal Municipalities Union and Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, highlighted the importance of children and youth growing up intertwined with sports, stating, "We highly value that our children use their summer vacations productively, acquire new skills, and meet with the unifying power of sports. Children who practice sports prepare for the future not only physically but also with values such as discipline, solidarity, and self-confidence. Therefore, we continue our efforts to make sports a natural part of our children’s lives."

Mayor Aras also noted that they have increased support for amateur sports: "The development of sports is possible by supporting athletes and clubs. In this context, we provide a total of 30 million 480 thousand TL in cash support to 178 amateur sports clubs in the year 2026. We will continue our investments and support decisively for a Muğla where young people can engage more in sports, develop their talents, and grow as healthy individuals."
