Construction of MSKU Milas Animal Hospital Started

Construction of the MSKU Milas Animal Hospital has begun. The center, planned to be opened in 2028, will serve the region with advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities.

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) has started construction works on the Milas Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital project, carried out within the scope of the investment program. The modern facility to be built in Muğla's Milas district will be an important center both in terms of veterinary education and animal health services in the region. Construction works started after the completion of the tender process are planned to be completed within 800 days. The hospital is scheduled to open on August 13, 2028.

Özhanlar Group Won the Tender with 38 Participating Companies

The construction tender for the Milas Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital was held as an open tender on April 27, 2026. A total of 38 companies submitted bids. Following the evaluation, the project was awarded to Özhanlar Group Construction Joint Stock Company with a price of 239 million 972 thousand TL excluding VAT. The contract of the project was signed on June 1, 2026, and the site was handed over to the contractor on June 5, 2026. The construction is expected to be completed after an 800-day work period and become operational on August 13, 2028.

Modern Animal Hospital Will Offer Advanced Diagnosis and Treatment Opportunities

The project will have a total closed area of 4,793 square meters, consisting of a 4,588 square meter main building and a 205 square meter independent Necropsy Building. Additionally, the facility will include a 2,590 square meter parking area.

The animal hospital will provide comprehensive health services for small and large livestock. Main units to be included in the project are as follows:

  • 4 pet animal operating rooms
  • 3 intensive care units
  • 22 cat and dog examination rooms
  • Ultrasonography, radiology, tomography, and MRI units
  • Central Laboratory
  • Emergency clinical examination room
  • Quarantine units
  • Horse and cattle operating rooms
  • Large animal intensive care areas
  • Clinical laboratories

With this infrastructure, the hospital aims to provide service with advanced technology in both diagnostic and treatment processes.

Necropsy Building Will Contribute to Education and Scientific Studies

The Necropsy Building, to be built independently from the main building, will play an important role in veterinary education. Thanks to the structure equipped with a modern anatomy hall, students and academics will be able to carry out direct examinations and scientific studies on animals. Also included in the project are a 130-square-meter amphitheater conference hall, a 190-square-meter large classroom, academician rooms, and study offices. Thus, the facility will serve not only as a health service center but also as a comprehensive academic structure where education and research activities are conducted.

Will Serve Muğla and Surrounding Provinces

Milas Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital will meet the practical training needs of MSKU Veterinary Faculty students and also serve animal owners throughout Muğla. The hospital is planned to be open to citizens coming from neighboring districts and provinces. Designed with functional architecture and modern equipment, the center aims to enhance the capacity of animal health services in the region and to be one of the exemplary veterinary hospitals in Turkey.
