National Team Indulges in Goals in World Cup Rehearsal

As part of the preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, our A National Team faced North Macedonia. The Crescent-Star team won the match played at Chobani Stadium 4-0.

The goals that brought victory to the National Team were scored by Orkun Kökçü in the 2nd minute, Can Uzun in the 16th minute, Deniz Gül in the 53rd minute, and Barış Alper Yılmaz in the 70th minute.

In the second preparatory match before the World Cup, the A National Team will face Venezuela on Sunday, June 7, in the state of Florida, USA. The match will be played at Inter Miami FC Stadium in Fort Lauderdale at 01:00 AM Turkish time. The national team, which will face Australia in the first group match of the World Cup, will move to their main camp center in Mesa, Arizona, USA.

EREN ELMALI HOSPITALIZED

In the 7th minute of the match, Eren Elmalı, who received a blow to his head during an aerial duel with his opponent, stayed on the field for 20 more minutes after the incident.

Eren Elmalı, who assisted Can Uzun's goal, later came off due to dizziness and was replaced by Zeki Çelik. Eren was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

With Eren Elmalı's exit from the game, Mert Müldür moved to left-back, and Zeki Çelik took the right-back position.

CAN UZUN SCORED HIS FIRST GOAL FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM

Can Uzun, the 20-year-old player of the A National Football Team playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, scored for the first time in his national team career against North Macedonia.

In the match, the young player met the ball from Eren Elmalı's pass and scored with a powerful long-distance shot.

Can Uzun was the provider of the assist for Deniz Gül's goal in the match.

Deniz Gül, the 21-year-old forward playing for Porto, played for the national team for the 7th time against North Macedonia.

In the 53rd minute of the match, the young player successfully headed the ball into the net from Can Uzun's cross, bringing the score to 3-0.

Deniz Gül scored his first goal for the national team in the World Cup Qualifiers match against Spain.

ARDA GÜLER RECEIVES A WAVE OF LOVE

Arda Güler, the star player of the A National Football Team wearing the Real Madrid jersey, was greeted with chants at Chobani Stadium.

As the second half began and Arda Güler went to warm up, the stands showed their affection for the young player with applause. The national footballer responded by waving to the fans.

MUHAMMED ŞENGEZER AND ARAL ŞİMŞİR BECAME NATIONAL PLAYERS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Two players wore the crescent-star jersey for the first time against North Macedonia in the A National Football Team.

Muhammed Şengezer, the goalkeeper who plays for RAMS Başakşehir, had been in the squad 9 times before but had not played; he took the field for the first time in the national team against North Macedonia. The 29-year-old goalkeeper entered the game in the 63rd minute replacing Altay Bayındır.

Another player making his national team debut was Aral Şimşir. The 23-year-old footballer playing in Denmark's Midtjylland team had been called to the squad for matches against Romania and Kosovo but was removed due to injury. Aral Şimşir entered the game in the 63rd minute replacing Can Uzun.

NEW IFAB RULES IMPLEMENTED

In the Turkey-North Macedonia match, new rules that will be applied at the World Cup were implemented.

In the 21st minute of the match, during an attack by the A National Football Team, the ball went out of play; however, the North Macedonia goalkeeper Dimitrievski and defenders quickly restarted the play, leading referee Jose Luis Munuera to award a corner kick to Turkey.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) made some rule changes ahead of the World Cup to prevent the game from slowing down, and these rules were announced to be applied in the tournament.
