KAAN, HÜRJET, HÜRKUŞ, ANKA... The eye-catchers of the defense industry... All are domestic national aircraft produced by Turkish engineers... Behind every aircraft gliding in the sky, there is great effort, a long training process, and trained workforce. A significant part of that human power is being trained at TUSAŞ Martyr Hakan Gülşen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Ankara Kızılcahamam.

Perhaps years later, a fingerprint of the students working here today at this school will be on an aircraft we see in the sky. Tomorrow's engineers and technicians are working here today in this workshop for the traces of the future.

Speaking about the education they receive to CNN TÜRK reporter Nisan Korkmaz, a student said, "When I see these defense industry vehicles, I stop and listen. Making a small model of this here and then making the real one and contributing to my country after a while is a great source of pride for me."
HIS PASSION FOR AVIATION BROUGHT HIM TO THIS SCHOOL
Another student said, "My childhood dream was always to be a pilot or an aircraft engineer. I always had a strong interest in aviation. I want to contribute to the defense industry in a beneficial way to the homeland and nation in the future. That’s why I chose this school. This summer, I will intern at TUSAŞ. Hopefully, I can continue working at TUSAŞ as an aircraft engineer."

In recent years, as the need for qualified personnel has increased especially in areas such as defense industry, information technology, electrical, and electronics, the importance of vocational high schools has also come to the fore. At TUSAŞ Martyr Hakan Gülşen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Ankara Kızılcahamam, today's students are being trained as tomorrow’s masters, technicians, and engineers.
GOAL: QUALIFIED HUMAN RESOURCES
Deputy Technical Director Muhammet Burak Küçükoğlu said, "We have a strong protocol with TUSAŞ. They do their internships there. They advance toward being more experienced by getting to know the sector. We have sent students to different European countries. Denmark, Germany, Hungary, and next week a group of our students will go to France."
Students first do internships at TUSAŞ and then have job opportunities. They take their first step toward their future at school. Their thoughts on the education they receive are as follows:
"I think we improve ourselves in every area, whether in practicality, manual skills, internship opportunities or overseas internship opportunities."
"We can intern at TUSAŞ. After the internship, we can be hired and become engineers, technicians, or technologists there. This is a great source of employment for us. I see myself as an aircraft engineer working at TUSAŞ in ten years."
"We participate in technology competitions, there are Erasmus projects at our school. Most of the graduates from this school get hired at TUSAŞ."
