Festival Adding Color to Village Life in Milas

Within the scope of the ÇYDD's “There is a Festival in the Village” project, during the five-day events held in Derince Neighborhood of Milas, children, youth, and villagers came together with educational, artistic, sports, and cultural activities, while the spirit of solidarity and sharing was strengthened.

The “There is a Festival in the Village” project, realized with the support of the Contemporary Life Support Association (ÇYDD) branches in Muğla, Bodrum, and Denizli, was carried out in Derince Neighborhood of Milas. Within the scope of the project, in which university students also actively participated, children, youth, and villagers gathered in educational, cultural, and social activities.

The five-day festival began with an introductory meeting with the villagers and an open-air cinema event. Various workshops including art, science, sports, handicrafts, and creative activities were organized for children throughout the program, and trainings were also given on personal development and awareness topics.

Various informative activities were also conducted for adults as part of the project. Disaster awareness, rights-based awareness-raising activities, as well as chats on agriculture and livestock, attracted great interest.

In the following days of the festival, events held at the village square, graduation celebrations, and music performances created colorful scenes. In the closing program where works prepared by children were exhibited, certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants.

The project carried out by ÇYDD contributed to the meeting of children and families living in the village with social, cultural, and educational activities, while also strengthening the spirit of solidarity and sharing.
