MHP's Oltulu: "July 15 is a Historic Turning Point"

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Muğla Provincial Chairman Emrah Oltulu issued a message on the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

Oltulu stated that on the night of July 15, 2016, the Turkish nation defended its will, independence, state, and flag, and expressed that the struggle exhibited that night was one of the most important resistances in Turkish history.

“We Took Sides Along with Our State and Nation”

Oltulu noted that the spirit of unity displayed by the nation, the strength of the state, and the determined stance of the People's Alliance were decisive in preventing the coup attempt and said:

“On that dark night, the unity spirit shown by our nation, the power of our state, and the unshakeable stance of the People's Alliance were decisive in thwarting the treacherous coup attempt. The Nationalist Movement Party, with the clear and determined will demonstrated by our Leader Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, sided with our state and nation from the very beginning, viewing the survival of the Republic of Turkey above all political calculations.”

“The Turkish Nation Declared It Will Not Compromise Its Independence”

Stressing that July 15 was not only a day when a coup attempt was prevented, Oltulu said, “July 15 is a historic turning point at which the Turkish nation declared to the entire world that it will never compromise its independence and future.”

Honoring the martyrs with mercy and gratitude and wishing the veterans a healthy and peaceful life, Oltulu concluded his message with the following words:

“May God make our state everlasting, our nation honored, and our unity and togetherness permanent. How happy is the one who says ‘I am a Turk.’”
