Applications have started for the children's council in Marmaris
Applications have started for the 2026-2027 term of the Children's Council, which was launched last year by the Marmaris Municipality to encourage children's participation in city management. Children between the ages of 9-14 can apply until Friday, July 31.
The Marmaris Municipality Children's Council, where children can freely express their ideas, actively participate in city life, and have a say in decision-making processes, is waiting for new term members.
Within the scope of the Children's Council, established last year, children had the opportunity to share their thoughts on environment, education, art, sports, and social life, develop projects, and contribute to municipal works.

The council members also participated in the Young Climate Ambassadors Program, conducted within the SEAMAR (Improvement of Marmaris Marine Ecosystem and Increasing Climate Resilience) Project, and took part in awareness activities on environment and climate.
In the new term, children aged 9-14 residing within the district boundaries of Marmaris can apply to the Children’s Council, aiming for children to recognize the culture of democracy at an early age, gain awareness of rights and responsibilities, approach social problems with solution-oriented perspectives, and share their opinions about city management. Applications, which will continue until Friday, July 31, can be made by filling out the application form on the Marmaris Municipality website.
Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü, calling out to children, emphasized that children's ideas are very important in shaping the future of the city, saying, "Our children's thoughts are very valuable to us.
It is of great importance both for their development and for the future of Marmaris that they have a say about the city they live in, produce solutions, and participate in decision-making processes. I invite all our children to join our Children's Council. Let's shape our future together. Use your right to speak as part of this city, share your ideas, and contribute to the city you live in. Let's make Marmaris a more beautiful, livable, and branded city together with your ideas."
