Kemal Hıra: First of all, thank you for your kind visit and your female-focused publication line. Your question needs to be looked at not only in terms of Fethiye but also with a global and national vision. In recent years, our women entrepreneurs have signed very successful and inspiring works in every field, from e-commerce to traditional businesses, from art to tradesmanship. Gender equality is evolving positively in the business world, and this makes us very happy.

In our region, we have very devoted and wonderful women entrepreneurs who breathe life into the economic dynamics of our district. I wholeheartedly congratulate them for their efforts. However, we do not consider the current success enough; we need to grow this power even more and raise the potential of our women to the highest level.

Women Current News: What are the expectations of women entrepreneurs under the roof of the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and what kind of management approach do you promise to meet these expectations?

Kemal Hıra: One of my biggest desires is to see our women entrepreneurs at every level of the business world and our chamber. From here, I make an open call to all businesswomen in our region: Come on, let's break those invisible boundaries on you—the glass ceilings—together!

The changing world and modern economic dynamics now require a woman's detail-oriented thinking, aesthetic perspective, and high sensitivity. Because women beautify everything they touch and add value to every sector they enter. If you do not represent yourself with your own projects, you will be known only as others portray you. We want our women to write their own stories as powerfully as possible.

"Gender Equality Is Not a Charity, But a Necessity for Our Common Future"

Women Current News: In our news, we advocate that women be known for their successes, not their victimizations. What is your approach on this matter?

Kemal Hıra: I closely follow and appreciate your media for this reason. Women should now be spoken of not for violence or victimization but for their successes, the added value they produce, and the wonderful role models they create.

I want to underline this with bold lines: Gender equality is not a favor or charity. Producing together and adding value together in every area of life is a societal and economic necessity. Fethiye and Seydikemer are very special cities where tourism and agriculture are blended. Women are indispensable in these two locomotive sectors. A tourism vision untouched by women, an agricultural development without female labor is unthinkable. Seeing our women not only in the business world but also in politics, non-governmental organizations, and management mechanisms will elevate Fethiye to a higher class.

Women Current News: Finally, will your projects aimed at businesswomen from Fethiye continue in the coming period?

Kemal Hıra: Definitely. This is a beginning. In the upcoming period, we will continue our thematic meetings and consultations with businesswomen and women entrepreneurs in our region without slowing down. Once again, through you, I declare: The Fethiye Chamber of Commerce is always ready to bring all requests, expectations, and projects of women entrepreneurs to the table with full synergy.

In our management approach, we will build a structure where our women entrepreneurs are not just members but directly involved in decision-making mechanisms. I invite all our entrepreneurial women to become members of our chamber, to take roles in our boards and management levels, and to guide the future of our region. We will produce together, win together, and grow Fethiye and Seydikemer together.
