Hyundai Elantra renewed: Its arrival in Turkey has become a topic of curiosity

Hyundai's new Elantra model was introduced with features that will further strengthen the brand's stance in the compact sedan class. The 8th generation Elantra, unveiled at the Busan Motor Show, will be sold under the name Avante in the South Korean market.

The new model was described by Hyundai CEO Jose Munoz as a "new milestone in its class." Measuring 4,765 millimeters in length, 1,855 millimeters in width, and having a 2,750 millimeter wheelbase, the vehicle is 55 millimeters longer and 30 millimeters wider than the previous generation. This growth especially brings one of the most assertive values in its class in terms of rear seat legroom and shoulder room.

Sharper and sportier lines in design

Featuring Hyundai's "Art of Steel" design language, the new Elantra has a more futuristic appearance with sharp lines, aggressive front styling, and geometric shapes. While retaining traces of the previous generation, the body has been reshaped to be more muscular, closer to the ground, and sportier.

The new Elantra offers two different engine options. The 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 149 horsepower, while the 1.6-liter hybrid engine stands out with 155 horsepower. Thanks to increased electric support, the hybrid version is expected to have advantages in both fuel economy and instantaneous acceleration performance.

AI-supported cockpit

One of the most noticeable innovations of the new generation Elantra is the technology inside the cabin. The vehicle is equipped with Hyundai's new infotainment system, Pleos Connect, which operates with an AI infrastructure called Gleo AI.

This technology allows drivers to control cabin functions with voice commands, receive navigation information, and perform internet queries. Thus, the new Elantra stands out not only with design and engine options but also with its digital cabin experience.

Top-segment safety technologies brought to the compact class

With the new Elantra, Hyundai brought many safety technologies seen in top-segment models to the compact sedan class. The vehicle includes Ped Motor Speed Assistant that detects unintended acceleration while parked, Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control 2 operative on city roads, SBW P-Gear system that enables braking with a P button in emergencies, Highway Driving Assist 2 which can perform autonomous lane changes, and Smart Park Assist offering remote parking support.

These features indicate that the new Elantra will challenge class boundaries not only in terms of design and performance but also in safety and driving assistance systems.

When will it arrive in Turkey?

Orders for the new Hyundai Elantra in South Korea are planned to start in the third quarter of 2026. The model is expected to hit the roads in the US market in the early periods of 2027, while it may arrive in Turkey in the first quarter of 2027.

Especially for the Turkish market, the 1.6-liter hybrid engine option is expected to stand out. Considering the tax structure and fuel economy, the hybrid version is predicted to be one of the most anticipated options in Turkey.
