India's First Event in Fethiye
Fethiye Municipality is organizing a joint event with the Indian Consulate General. This event will be the first event held by the Indian consulate in Fethiye.
"India Yoga Days," organized in collaboration with Fethiye Municipality and the Indian Consulate General in Istanbul, will bring together residents of Fethiye and yoga enthusiasts on June 12-13, 2026. During the two-day event, participants will have the opportunity to get to know yoga culture closely and participate in various activities reflecting India's rich cultural heritage.
Event Program
On the first day of the program, Friday, June 12, an opening reception will be held at 18:00 at the Fethiye Municipality Culture House. On the same day at 19:00, a selected film from Indian cinema will be screened.
On the second day of the event, Saturday, June 13, yoga and cultural activities will be organized on the beach area in front of Ju Restaurant at Çalış Beach. Within this scope, a yoga session will be held at 19:30 accompanied by the sunset. Then at 20:30, Holi celebrations will take place accompanied by Kirtan. The Holi activity is expected to particularly attract great interest from young people.
As part of the events held under the theme "Healthy Aging: Yoga," yoga mats, t-shirts, and various refreshments will be distributed free of charge to participants by the Indian Consulate.
Cash Prize Photography Competition
Additionally, within the scope of the events, a prize-winning photography competition will be held for yoga-themed photos taken in various beautiful spots of Fethiye such as Kayaköy, Ölüdeniz, Amyntas Tombs, and Göcek bays. Yoga lovers and photographers will submit their yoga-themed photos to Fethiye Municipality to be forwarded to the Indian Embassy. The top 10 photos, selected by the Indian Embassy in Ankara, will receive cash prizes.
In recent months, first the Indian Consul General in Istanbul Mijito Vinito, and later the Deputy Consul General Rishabh Shukla paid an official visit to Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca.
Officials from Fethiye Municipality invited all citizens to this event, which will contribute to strengthening intercultural friendship, expressing their happiness to host participants in this special organization where yoga and healthy living come together. The promotional videos and visuals prepared after the events will be shared on Indian social media through the consulate and embassy.
