Fethiye's Famous Umbrella Street Gains a Modern Look
Renovation works in Şemsiyeli Sokak, one of the tourist attraction centers in Fethiye district of Muğla, have been completed. The upper shading system, electrical and lighting infrastructure were renewed, and most of the new umbrellas were installed. The renovated Şemsiyeli Sokak is expected to contribute to Fethiye tourism.
Şemsiyeli Sokak is preparing to greet its visitors with a more modern and aesthetic look following the completed renovation works.
Within the scope of the project carried out in cooperation with Fethiye Municipality and local tradesmen, the upper shading system, which deteriorated over time due to weather conditions, has been completely renewed. As part of the works, the fixing processes of the shading system have also been completed.
The installation of new umbrellas is nearing completion
In the final stage of the renovation works, most of the colorful umbrellas, which have become the symbol of Şemsiyeli Sokak, were installed in their places.
It was reported that with the installation of the remaining umbrellas in a short time, the visual arrangement on the street will be completed.
Electrical and lighting infrastructure also renewed
The project was not limited to visual arrangements only. Necessary maintenance and renovation works were carried out on the electrical infrastructure and lighting systems, ensuring the area's transformation into a safer and more aesthetic appearance.
While local tradesmen also supported the renovation process, it was stated that with the completion of the works, Şemsiyeli Sokak is aimed to contribute to both tourism and commercial vitality.
