The forest fire that started yesterday around noon in Gökçeovacık Neighborhood of Fethiye and spread to İnlice Neighborhood due to the influence of wind was brought under control after about 20 hours of intense intervention by the teams. After the fire was brought under control, comprehensive cooling efforts were started by forest workers on duty in the area since night time. The teams continued their work in the field uninterrupted throughout the night to prevent the fire from reigniting.

With the first light of day, cooling efforts were supported from the air. Dozens of helicopters and firefighting planes contributed to the work of the ground teams by dropping water on risky points through sorties over the region.

While cooling efforts carried out both from ground and air continue uninterruptedly to ensure the fire is completely extinguished, the teams remain on alert in the region against possible re-ignitions and continue to perform their duties.
