Tough fight with flames continues in Fethiye Yeşilüzümlü
The teams' intervention to the forest fire that broke out in Yokuşbaşı area of Yeşilüzümlü Neighborhood in Fethiye continues uninterrupted. It is stated that the fire, which shows a tendency to grow under the influence of strong wind, is advancing towards Karagedik Neighborhood over the streambed, while citizens are also supporting the extinguishing efforts with water tankers.
The forest fire that broke out in Yokuşbaşı area of Yeşilüzümlü Neighborhood in Fethiye has alarmed the teams and local people. The cause of the fire, which has not yet been determined, is being intensively combated from air and ground by the Muğla Forest Regional Directorate teams and fire brigade teams.
The strong wind, which continues to affect the region, caused the flames to spread quickly, and it was reported that the fire is moving over the streambed towards Karagedik Neighborhood. While cooling efforts continue at some points in the Yokuşbaşı area, the teams are working intensively to bring the fire under control.
Local residents are also supporting fire extinguishing efforts. Citizens transporting water to the area with water tankers attached to their tractors are fighting in coordination with the teams to stop the flames.
Meanwhile, it was learned that Fethiye District Governor Fatih Akkaya is following the operations moment by moment from the Forest General Directorate Fire Management Vehicle and getting information from the teams. The efforts to control the fire continue uninterrupted.
