Fethiye District Governor Akkaya and Muğla Deputies arrived at the fire zone
In the area ahead of Avcı Kulübesi in Yeşilüzümlü Neighborhood of Fethiye, where the transformers are located, the flames rising again increased in intensity under the effect of strong wind and moved towards residential areas. Fethiye District Governor Fatih Akkaya and Muğla Deputies Cumhur Uzun, Gizem Özcan, and Süreyya Öneş Derici, who arrived at the fire zone, followed the efforts on site.
Critical hours are being experienced in the forest fire continuing in Yeşilüzümlü Neighborhood of Fethiye. The fire that restarted in the area where the transformers are located ahead of Avcı Kulübesi grew rapidly under the effect of strong wind and began to advance towards residential areas. As the intensity of the fire increased, teams from the General Directorate of Forestry, fire department, AFAD, and other support teams were dispatched to the area, and intense intervention was initiated from air and ground. Firefighting helicopters carried out consecutive water drops on critical points, while ground teams are working intensively to prevent the flames from reaching residential areas.
After the latest developments in the fire, Fethiye District Governor Fatih Akkaya also returned to the fire zone and followed the coordination efforts on site. Akkaya received information from the teams about the course of the fire and the ongoing work.
Additionally, Yeni Parti Muğla Deputies Cumhur Uzun, Gizem Özcan, and Süreyya Öneş Derici, along with Yeni Parti Fethiye District President Mustafa Koyuncu, conducted inspections at the fire site. The delegation met with teams on duty in the area, followed the efforts on site, and obtained information about the latest status.
While teams continue intensive intervention from air and ground, it was learned that the strong wind complicates bringing the fire under control. It was reported that all available resources have been mobilized to stop the flames approaching residential areas.
