While the air temperature in the district is expected to rise up to 35 degrees, experts have warned citizens to be careful against heat stroke.
According to meteorological data, the air temperature in Fethiye will hover around 26 degrees in the morning hours and will rise during the day to reach 35 degrees. With a partly cloudy sky dominating the district, it is estimated that the temperature felt due to high humidity can rise above the thermometer readings.
Authorities noted that weather conditions are favorable for sea tourism, but especially citizens and tourists who stay under the sun for a long time need to take necessary precautions.
Warning for Noon Hours
Experts recommend avoiding being outdoors between 11:00 and 16:00 when the sun’s rays come at the steepest angle, unless necessary.
It is especially emphasized that elderly people, children, citizens with chronic illnesses, and those working outdoors should be careful against heat stroke, and drinking plenty of water, wearing light-colored clothes, and using sunscreen products are advised.
Attention to Forest Fire Risk
Authorities, noting the increased risk of forest fires due to the sustained high temperatures, asked citizens not to light fires in forested areas and not to leave materials such as cigarette butts and glass that could cause fires in nature.
