Controlled demolition work has started at the Gazi Middle School building in Fethiye. It was decided to demolish the school building, which was found insufficiently safe in the earthquake resistance report, in order to prevent it from posing a risk in the event of a possible earthquake.

All necessary security precautions have been taken in the area where the demolition work is being carried out, and two construction machines are continuing the work in a controlled manner. Authorities stated that access to the work site has been restricted for the safety of the surrounding citizens.

After the demolition of the current building is completed, it is planned to redesign and reconstruct the school in accordance with the current earthquake regulations.
