Fethiye - China Joint Photo Exhibition

Organized in collaboration with the Fethiye Municipality, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ankara, Fethiye's sister city Huzhou Municipality in China, and the Fethiye Photography Artists Association FEFSAD, the joint photo exhibition titled "Mountains and Seas Flourish" will open within the scope of China’s Ambassador to Ankara Jiang Xuebin's official visit to Fethiye on July 9-10. The opening of the exhibition is expected to be jointly conducted by Ambassador Jiang Xuebin, District Governor Fatih Akkaya, and Mayor Alim Karaca at 13:30 on July 9.

On the evening of July 9, the "Harmony of the Silk Road" music, light, and dance performance by the Beijing Foreign Studies University Art Ensemble at the Telmessos ancient theater will serve as a cultural symbol of friendship between the two countries.

55 Years of Diplomatic Friendship

The 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the People's Republic of China will also be celebrated with comprehensive cultural and artistic events in Fethiye. The events planned during China’s Ambassador to Ankara Jiang Xuebin's official visit to Fethiye on July 9-10 will give new momentum to the recently developed relations between Fethiye and China.

Coordinated by the Fethiye Municipality and organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ankara, Huzhou Municipality, and the Fethiye Photography and Cinema Art Association (FEFSAD), the "Mountains and Seas Flourish" Fethiye - Huzhou Cultural Exchange Exhibition will open at 13:30 on Thursday, July 9 at the Özer Olgun Cultural Center. The exhibition can be visited until 17:30 on Friday, July 10.

FEFSAD's Contribution to International Cultural Diplomacy

Previously holding a joint photo exhibition with Huzhou Municipality, FEFSAD is now participating in another important organization contributing to the development of cultural friendship between Fethiye and China. The exhibition, combining photographs reflecting Fethiye's natural beauties, cultural heritage, and daily life with Huzhou's historical and cultural richness, is regarded as one of the most tangible examples of the friendship established between the two cities through art.

Chinese Melodies at Telmessos

On the evening of July 9 at 20:00, the Telmessos ancient theater will host the gala show "Harmony of the Silk Road" prepared by the Beijing Foreign Studies University Art Ensemble. The show, which brings together music, dance, and performing arts, will convey the cultural heritage of the historic Silk Road to the audience through a modern artistic language.

Fethiye on the Way to Becoming an International Cultural Center

Ambassador Jiang Xuebin’s official visit, when considered together with the cultural and artistic events, once again highlights Fethiye’s role in international cultural collaborations.

As strong relations recently established with China in tourism, culture, education, and local governance are expected to be further developed with new projects, the exhibition and gala program aim to make an important contribution to strengthening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
The events hosted by Fethiye Municipality are expected not only to signify cultural interaction between Huzhou and Fethiye but also to serve as a meaningful symbol of the 55 years of ongoing diplomatic friendship between the two countries.
