Statement on Fish Prices from Fethiye Fish Market Tradesmen

Sabri Kılınç, tradesman at Fethiye Fish Market, made statements about fish prices during the summer season and the types most preferred by citizens. Emphasizing that prices are not as high as thought, Kılınç noted that fish prices in Fethiye are more affordable compared to many other cities.
Pointing out that fish offers an economical option when consumed as a family, Kılınç said, "A fish for 3-4 people costs between one thousand and two thousand liras on average. Per person, it comes to approximately 300-400 liras. Compared to many meals outside, it is actually not very expensive."
Stating that gilt-head bream and sea bass are the most preferred in summer months, Kılınç said, "Gilt-head bream is one of the primary fish to be consumed in this season. Sea bass is also one of the most preferred types. The price per kilogram of gilt-head bream is 600 liras, while sea bass is 700 liras. Gilt-head bream is fattier, sea bass is leaner. The preference entirely depends on personal taste."
Emphasizing that fish arrive fresh on the stands every day, Kılınç invited citizens to consume fresh fish, saying, "Fish in the market never become stale. Daily income is sold daily. The next day, fresh fish take their place on the stands again."
